  1. You've received quite a bit of snow! Hope all are safe and warm. It is beautiful, though.

  2. It seems to be snowing quite a lot. Is this year's weather more extreme than previous years?

  3. One of the reason I love yard art is even during blizzard conditions, they just work their little hearts out. Look at them almost buried in the snow but still lookin' good.

  4. I can't decide if it's an "OMG" or "Beautiful". Your Wordless Wednesday has me speechless!

  5. Shirley - from the safe & warm confines of our home, it was an amazing storm to watch (there was even 'Thunder Snow').

One - the Midwest has actually been low on snow, until this storm; it was officially the 3rd biggest storm in record-able history.

LifesHwy - aren't they the best?!! (That's one of my favorite photos!)

Tufa Girl - even veteran Chicagoans were speechless! There have only been 3 Blizzards like it in the past +40 yrs. Of course all the kids were doing the "HAPPY DANCE" when they got back-to-back "Snow Days"!! ;D

  7. Wow! We had a a small ice storm with some snow showers yesterday. Ultimately nothing stuck, but the streets were very slippery. Your snow is mind boggling!

  9. Cat - we "are snug as a bug in a rug!" (who knows where that saying came from?!!) :) I am getting cabin fever though -- getting the 'itch' to plan and plant in the garden!

Deb - I have to be honest, we Chicagoans have become lulled into much milder winters. Snow like this is so rare anymore - an 8-12" snowfall is considered 'big' these days!

Janet - I just keep telling myself that the snow melt will be fabulous for giving the trees and bushes a nice "longggg" drink of water this spring!

  10. Okay. I'll quit whining about our few inches of ice and snow in Texas. You win. Wow! I can't believe that door shot! The shadows on the snow is so beautiful! I got out and took some shadow shots yesterday too. Thanks for checking out my Yart Art Game pic :-) Your comment cracked me up!

  11. Toni - believe me, we were really whiny when we had that snow and even native Chicagoans got stuck on Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago! (not a proud IL moment) ;o)

  12. Love your pics Blondie and I'm soooo glad to NOT live in Chicagoland any longer! We did have 2" of snow here yesterday - had to sweep the walkway 3 times!! Most of it melted today - call for the 60s the next 2 weekends. Come on down!!

  13. "Eunice" - you know how I feel about that having to "sweep" the snow off your sidewalk! (It isn't a real snow if you can use a broom!!) You know that 'invite' is a dangerous offer! :D
