Off topic - Is Spring the BIGGEST teaser or what?!!

I just had to take a detour - for one blog (from the 'renovation review').

Cabin fever got the best of me & I had to get some fresh air at lunch today!!  It was going to be over 50 degrees, and in the Chicago-area - this time of year, THAT is a big deal!  You could actually be 'coat-less', for the hardy.  I detoured to the park with a 'grab n go' lunch.

What a treat in the middle of an insane day!  The biggest unexpected surprise was seeing the migration of flocks of Sandhill Cranes, heading northwest.  Listening to them calling to each other - almost like a dove's coo - was hypnotic. Between that and the 55 degree temps, it was near to impossible to go back to work!

But now I have renewed hope, that Spring is on it's way.  And even though Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow (what IS it with me and small furry animals?), he can't stop Spring from coming ......  (hope springs eternal!)

  1. As much fun as it is to give you a hard time, I have to admit that your blog is well written and quite entertaining. Of course, if you tell anyone this, I will deny it and say that someone hacked into my account. ;-) xoxo

  2. I remember the days of going coatless at 50 degrees, and laughing at the looks on the locals faces when I did so LOL. After 4 years in coastal north Carolina, I'm much wimpier now, though I hate to admit it ;)

  3. Nicely put. It is 55 here today and I took a walk without a jacket for the first time in 6 months (though I must admit-it was a bit too cold for shortsleeves!).

  5. Shyrlene, We've had several days of 50+ temps here in Maine, too -- more like April than March, and the snow is melting fast. Today I actually hung laundry out on the clothesline for the first time in months. -Jean
